Two years into backing Supersport champion Shaun Harris, Ricoh is still flying high on Shaun’s success.

“He’s a very dedicated and professional New Zealand sportsman, a world-class competitor in a sport that is seeing increased coverage here in New Zealand.” Says Marketing Manager Murray Clark.

Shaun, who is from New Plymouth, launched his high-speed career in New Zealand 18 years ago on a 750cc machine, before heading to Japan to give the Superbike league a shot. Shaun is renowned as an excellent development rider, who can make a machine perform its best, and he has three wins at the Prestigious Isle of Man TT to his credit, as well as five New Zealand championships.

“Our association with Shaun has attracted a lot of interest from all sectors – it’s a great talking point,” Murray continues.

This year, the defending 600cc Supersport champion is running a three bike team.
He races a Suzuki, GSX-R600 in the Supersport class, and a GSX-R750 in the Superbike class. His third bike is another 600 Supersport, which is ridden by Dominique Jones, an up and coming young racer in whom Shaun sees great potential.

Shaun’s season got underway in early December with several wins, and currently holds a solid lead in the Supersport championship.

Shaun is single-minded in his determination to succeed: "To be successful in sport you need the right backing and the right attitude,” he explains. "Ricoh have provided the backing. Now it’s simply my job to win races.”
