Accreditation and Environmental Achievements

Since the 1990s, Ricoh has been a world leader in the development of energy efficient and environmentally conscious products. Ricoh's pioneering efforts in the Office Automation and Imaging Industry have been officially recognised across Japan, USA and Europe.

Environmental Management System ISO 14001

Ricoh became New Zealand's first office equipment supplier to be accredited with ISO 14001 in 2001. ISO 14001 is a worldwide certification, primarily focused on what the organisation does to eliminate or minimise harmful effects caused by its activities on the environment. Additionally, all major Ricoh production sites in the world are ISO 14001 certified.

Carbon neutral

In 2008, Ricoh became the first document solutions company in New Zealand to become carbon neutral. This has been recognised by the achievement of carboNZeroCert™ certification. In addition to our own business operations, Ricoh has voluntarily decided to offset the emissions associated with our customer's use of energy efficient Ricoh multifunctional devices and printers. Your organisation's carbon footprint will be reduced because we take responsibility for offsetting the electricity consumed by your Ricoh equipment.

The carboNZero certification programme is a Crown Research Institute led initiative.

Initiated and endorsed by the New Zealand Government, Ricoh is New Zealand's first office equipment supplier to have our products accredited with the Environmental Choice Tick of Approval; recognising our achievements in reducing the environmental impact of our products.

19th Annual WEC Gold Medal Award 2003

In 2003, Ricoh was awarded the 19th annual WEC (World Environment Centre) Gold Medal for International Achievement in Sustainable Development. The prestigious WEC Gold Medal was awarded by an independent jury of distinguished international environmentalists to a corporation that demonstrates pre-eminent leadership and contributes to worldwide environmental quality
